Glasgow Super-Casino Given Approval

GLASGOW, Scotland – As reported by the Scotman: "Rangers Football Club has been given planning permission for a £120 million Las Vegas-style super casino and hotel complex.

"The development beside the Ibrox ground, which would create about 2,000 jobs, was given the go-ahead by Glasgow City Council.

"Final approval for the super casino now rests with the UK Government's Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

"Rangers have entered into a partnership with Las Vegas Sands for the scheme, which they said would regenerate the wider Govan area - currently plagued by unemployment levels of around 14%.

"…The UK Government has said it will only allow one regional super casino and Glasgow could face stiff competition - Blackpool has already applied to build one…"
