ATLANTIC CITY – As reported by the New Jersey Star-Ledger: "It was the moment during the Chippendales show at Harrah's Atlantic City that everyone was waiting for: A chance for three lucky ladies to be taunted and teased on stage by two buff studs.

"…Finally, after one person's failed attempt to get the attention of the host by baring her breasts, the third spot went to ... Maria Faragalli.

"Faragalli has been gambling at Harrah's since it opened 23 years ago. Although she wouldn't divulge her age, she confided that her 60th high school reunion is right around the corner.

"…You think a great-grandmother from Columbus, N.J., isn't young enough to enjoy the attention of two 20-something, gyrating male dancers? That's what the casinos used to think.

"Women have long outnumbered men in the casinos, but getting their fair share has come ever so slowly. All the eye candy the casinos have to offer is for the guys. Take Las Vegas, with its showgirls, sexy (female) cocktail waitresses and nude and near-nude revues. Even look around Borgata, Atlantic City's newest and sexiest casino. All you'll see are Borgata Babes -- waitresses in low-cut black dresses.

"…Lately, the other two casinos in the Marina District of Atlantic City have been turning the tables. Last week, the Chippendales, still with their signature tuxedo collars and cuffs, performed two sold-out shows at Harrah's, and they have been invited to return this summer.

"Trump Marina, the casino known for its weekly bikini and lingerie contests, hosted its second annual 'Ladies Appreciation Day' last month, and has also added an 'Incredible Hunk' contest to the mix this year.

"…[Todd Moyer, senior vice president of marketing at Trump Marina,] insisted the casinos can appeal to women without using half-naked men. During Ladies Appreciation Day, male models dressed in tuxedos passed out roses and chocolate-dipped strawberries. Women received free massages. A pianist played background music. And the casino hosted a ladies-only blackjack tournament…"
