30 May 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Chandler Chamber of Commerce awarded its most prestigious honor, the 2018 Large Business of the Year Award, to Gila River Hotels & Casinos for its innovation, outstanding products and services, and consistent involvement with the Chandler community.

Gila River, which operates three casino properties in the Phoenix metropolitan area, Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, Lone Butte Casino, and Vee Quiva Hotel and Casino, has been a member of the chamber since 2001 and is receiving its first community award from the organization.

“We couldn’t be more delighted to be this year’s 2018 Large Business of the Year award recipient,” said Kenneth Manuel, Gila River Hotels & Casinos CEO. “Chandler is an incredible city to live, work and enjoy; this recognition is truly an honor.”

The chamber’s annual community awards focus on local businesses that are outstanding in their field, provide products and services that benefit community members, support local charities and improve the surrounding economy.

For the past 25 years, Gila River has attracted local, national, and international tourism to the City of Chandler, while providing a large variety of job opportunities, employing more than 2,000 individuals from the surrounding area.

Philanthropically, Gila River is involved in supporting many local Chandler organizations like the Chandler Compadres, Sun Lakes Rotary Club, the Assistance League of the East Valley, Baby Sav, Chandler Lions Club, Si Se Puede Foundation, the South Chandler Self Help Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of the East Valley, plus many more.

On 1 June, Gila River will be honored at the Chandler Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Dinner. This year’s award ceremony will be held on 1 June, at Wild Horse Pass. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., program starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are available and can be registered through the Chandler Chamber of Commerce website.
