Gettysburg Hearings Begin5 April 2006PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the Evening Sun: "Chance Enterprises public relations consultant Greg Beuerman has had a busy couple of days. "He's been preparing for today's public hearing, when the state Gaming Control Board will hear testimony from Chance, government officials, community groups and individuals about the investor group's proposal to build a slots casino near routes 15 and 30 in Straban Township. "The proposal has been barraged by criticism from religious leaders, preservationists and citizen activist groups. And as the hearing's gotten closer, the fight for and against the casino has become more strident. "…The Gaming Control Board will have to evaluate all the disparate reports, petitions and testimony from 192 individuals and groups speaking at three different public hearings and then decide. "Beuerman believes they should listen to the Gettysburg Borough Council, which recently agreed to testify for the casino in exchange for a minimum $1 million annual revenue from Chance…" |
