German regulator revokes Tipster's sports betting license15 June 2023(PRESS RELEASE) -- With the announcement of the decision on 15 July, the Joint Gambling Authority of the Länder revoked the license granted to Tipster Limited to organize sports betting on the Internet and in stationary operation. As part of the supervisory review, it was found that the licensing requirements for legal operation by the provider are no longer met. Tipster is thus no longer in the official whitelist of permitted organizers of public gambling. The GGL informs the public about this fact in order to protect consumers and ensure player protection. This is no longer guaranteed with Tipster. With this approach, the GGL is consistently implementing the goals of the GlüStV 2021. Ronald Benter, CEO of GGL: "We take consistent action against license holders if they violate the elementary rules of the State Treaty on Gambling." Fellow Executive Board member Benjamin Schwanke adds: "We do not shy away from the big players in the market either."
