Genting launches Players Championship 201112 July 2011BIRMINGHAM, U.K. (PRESS RELEASE) -- Genting Poker has announced the dates for the popular Genting Poker Players Championship 2011. The two day tournament, won last year by Londoner Dominic Kay, culminates once again at the Circus Casino, Star City on September 24-25 2011. As they did last year, Genting Poker is adding massive value to the event with £10,000 added to the total prize pool, which is estimated to be in the region of £85,000 this year plus, the winner receives a £1,500 Palm Beach Big Game package to play in the biggest monthly buy-in poker game in the U.K. The GPPC II remains the most affordable major poker event in the UK calendar. Buy in remains unchanged at just £150 + £15, with qualifiers commencing from July 1st for as little as £2.50 (+£0.25). The 2011 Genting Poker Players Championship promises to be even better than last year’s with a bigger field, better structure and more added value prizes and events. Attracting 305 players last year, the level of early interest indicates a record field will sit down this year! The only way to get into this exclusive Genting Poker event will be to buy in or qualify online. No physical buy-in at club level will be permitted. Genting TV will be covering the event throughout, and the innovative FRiD poker table recently launched in Liverpool, will be the main table, providing the best in live streaming throughout the tournament on www.gentingpoker.com Supporting the main event will be a series of minor tournaments and cash games throughout the weekend. All GPPC II players will sit down with a minimum of 8,000 starting Chips, but, buy-in online and generate just £5.00 in Rake / Tournament fees between July 1 and September 23 and a very useful 2,000 chip boost will be added to a player’s starting chips. Players can accrue their chips on one of four great online poker rooms supporting the event.
