Gatti-Branco tickets go on sale

PRESS RELEASE: ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - (November 14, 2003) - Tickets for the highly anticipated night of championship boxing featuring Arturo Gatti versus Gianluca Branco will go on sale Monday, November 17 at 3 p.m., it was announced today by Main Events CEO Kathy Duva and Bally's Atlantic City President Ken Condon. Gatti, the fighter dubbed "the human highlight film," returns to the ring on January 24, 2004 at Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall to battle undefeated WBC #1 ranked contender Gianluca Branco for the vacant WBC super lightweight crown.

Tickets for Gatti-Branco are priced at $300, $200, $150, $100, and $50, and will be available at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall Box Office, by calling TicketMaster at 1-800-736-1420, or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com. There will be more than 3,000 seats available in the $50 range. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Gatti (36-6, 28 KO's) has participated in the "Fight of the Year" four times (1996-1998, 2000), and, on January 24, Gatti will be competing for his first world title since vacating his IBF jr. lightweight crown following his "Fight of the Year" victory over Gabriel Ruelas on October 4, 1997 (TKO 5). Gatti is ranked #2 by the WBC.

Branco (32-0-1, 15 KO's) is the former European and former Italian jr. welterweight champion. The 33-year-old Civitavecchia, Italy native is ranked #1 by the WBC. On March 9, 2002, Branco successfully defended his European crown for the second time when he stopped former IBF #1 jr. welterweight contender Allan Vester (TKO 10).

The evening of boxing will be presented by Main Events, Bally's Atlantic City, Caesars Atlantic City and Budweiser in association with OPI 2000. It will be telecast by HBO.
