Gary Allan brings "Set You Free" tour to Hard Rock Tulsa

31 May 2013

TULSA, Okla. (PRESS RELEASE) -- Gary Allan has twice sold out The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. On Aug. 17, the country star looks to repeat that feat for the third time in three years on the heels of a surgery to strengthen his voice and the release of his No. 1 album, "Set You Free."

Tickets start at $60 and go on sale July 4.

During a routine checkup before recording "Set You Free," doctors discovered a polyp on Allan’s vocal cords that had restricted his range and vocal strength. With the polyp removed, the difference is noticeable.

Allan has always been known for a gritty, gravely edge to his performances, but he is now singing with more command, authority and pliability than he has in years.

The California country star's new album is described as his most optimistic to date. As part of the recording process, Allan played more lead guitar and for the first time co-wrote songs with a group of women -- Sarah Buxton, Hillary Lindsey and Rachel Proctor.

The results include the album's No. 1 lead single, "Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)," which is co-written by Lindsey and features her as the harmony vocalist.

Since launching his career in 1996, Allan has released nine studio albums, with three certified platinum and seven certified gold. His last seven releases have peaked in the top 10, with two hitting No. 1.

Allan has released 27 singles, with all charting on the Billboard country charts, including five that peaked at No. 1.

Among his singles are the chart-topping hits "Man To Man," "Tough Little Boys," "Nothing On But The Radio" and "Watching Airplanes." Other popular singles include "Her Man," "Right Where I Need To Be," "Smoke Rings In The Dark," "The One" and "Best I Ever Had."
