Gaming Standards Association releases new S2S standard

18 April 2012

LAS VEGAS (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Gaming Standards Association (GSA), the world’s leading standards-setting organization for the gaming industry, has released the latest update to its landmark System To System (S2S) standard.

The new S2S v1.6 Message Protocol is a giant leap forward and is designed so that software can be downloaded to site controllers and then installed on electronic gaming machines, or EGMs, using GSA’s award-winning Game To System (G2S) protocol.

S2S v1.6 also includes updates to the player tracking functionality, providing better alignment with G2S. This also marks another significant step in GSA's efforts to provide support for Internet gaming. Operators and suppliers will benefit from the new standard as they seek to integrate player activity from multiple gaming channels into a single view of the player.

GSA Protocol Director Ethan Tower said, “S2S continues to evolve. New functionality is being added and existing functionality is being updated to meet the needs of the industry to accommodate and anticipate player demand.”

The new S2S v1.6 is available now to GSA members, who can download the new standard from GSA’s website.
