Gaming Commission to Analyze Casinos' Use of Minority-Owned Businesses

26 July 2006

INDIANA -- As reported by the Courier Press: "The Indiana Gaming Commission is undertaking a study to analyze casinos' use of minority and women-owned businesses.

"The commission is seeking the input of all businesses that are able, ready and willing to provide goods and services to Indiana's riverboat casinos.

"The information is being sought as part of a disparity study attempting to determine if the amount of purchases made from minority and women-owned businesses is proportionate to the capacity of those companies to provide goods and services to the state's casinos.

"If the study finds a disparity, state law requires the gaming commission to establish utilization goals.

"...The survey is available at www.in.go/gaming on the Internet..."
