Gaming Columnist, 48, dies of Blood Clot

7 July 2004

LOS ANGELES -- As reported by the Detroit Free Press: "Andrew N.S. Glazer, an author of books on gambling and a columnist for the Free Press, died Sunday in Los Angeles from complications from a blood clot.

"He was 48.

"'Andy will be sorely missed. He was the voice of gaming. Many people's enjoyment of the casinos in Detroit was enhanced by Andy's knowledge,' said Steve Grimmer, assistant features editor for the Free Press. Along with his writing, Mr. Glazer taught gambling seminars nationally for Casino Conquests International and was the author of the book "Casino Gambling the Smart Way."

"...Mr. Glazer was born in Massapequa, N.Y. He was a cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan and the Emory University School of Law.

"...His funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wandy Memorial Chapel, Huntington Station, N.Y.; burial at the New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, N.Y.
