Gambling Ring On Pulau Besar Busted

JOHOR BAHARU, Malaysia – As reported by Bernama: "Johor police crippled a horse racing gambling syndicate operating in the open on the beach of Pulau Besar in Mersing.

"State CID SAC II Ithnin Talib said police detained 23 locals, including four women, aged between 25 and 45, in a raid on the beach at about 3pm on Sunday.

"…The syndicate had been operating for almost a month in the area, accepting stakes of between RM300,000 to RM400,000 for each race, and with takings of up to RM4 million (US$1.05 million) a day, he said…"
