Gambling revenue flat at Council Bluffs casinos7 May 2008COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- As reported by the World Herald: "The Council Bluffs casinos are seeing some impact on their gambling business, though not to the same degree as the Las Vegas market. "Gambling revenue for the three Bluffs casinos was essentially flat in the first quarter of 2008, while total revenue dipped over the past several months. "Combined gambling revenue at the Horseshoe, Harrah's and Ameristar casinos rose one-half of 1 percent for January through March, compared to the first three months of 2007. That's according to figures from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. "...Since the Omaha area typically doesn't feel the full force of economic downturns, the area's casinos could be spared from the worst troubles..." |
