Gambling nun accused of embezzling10 December 2010NEW YORK -- A gambling nun may have embezzled an astonishing $1.2 million from a Catholic college, Reuters reported. Sr Marie Thornton is accused of the alleged thefts between 1999 and 2009, when she was Vice President of Finances at the college, Reuters reported. The nun enjoyed trips to Atlantic City it is alleged and she's accused of submitting false invoices to pay off her debts, Reuters reported. |
