Gambling grows to unexpected levels in Poland22 September 2008WARSAW, Poland -- As reported by Puls Biznesu: "The Poles spend more on gambling than on vodka and beer. This year, they will have spent PLN 17bn (EUR 5.2bn) for this purpose, over twice as much as in 2006 "...Last year, the Poles spent more on gambling than on beer, vodka and medical services. If the upward trend continues the gambling market will be worth as much as the mobile telecommunication in 2009. "... in 2007, the Poles spent nearly PLN 12bn for gambling, i.e. 47.5 percent more than in 2006. "...One-armed bandits are the most popular way of gambling..." |
