Gambling Addict Jailed

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the (Australia) Herald Sun: "A gambling addict who ripped off more than $120,000 (US$ 90,121) from financial institutions was yesterday jailed for at least a year.

"Michael John Brennan used false details to seek and obtain loans and credit from institutions, including the big four banks over two years from mid-2001.

"…Brennan, of Highett, pleaded guilty to six counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception, and one count each of furnishing false information and attempting to obtain financial advantage by deception..."
