Gamblers suing lottery for $77K

2 December 2011

VICTORIA, British Columbia -- The BC Lottery Corp. is facing a lawsuit from two self-excluded gamblers over winnings, CTV News reported.

The men allege they were refused payout of over $77,000 in winnings because they were part of a "voluntary self-exclusion program" when they won them, the report said.

The gamblers contend they lost money without casino staff being alert to their presence and also that the agreement they signed did not contain the forfeit winnings clause cited as the reason for refusing payment, CTV News reported.
