Gamblers sue Ameristar Casino21 March 2007MISSOURI – As reported by the Kansas City Star: "Seven gamblers are suing the Ameristar Casino of St. Charles, Mo., claiming they were cheated out of money and points when the casino changed its video poker rewards program. "The lawsuit was filed Tuesday against the St. Louis area casino and its parent company, Las Vegas-based Ameristar, and seeks $150 million in actual and punitive damages. Ameristar also operates a casino in Kansas City. "Attorney Arthur Muegler Jr. said he hoped the lawsuit was certified as a class-action case, one that he said could affect as many as 300,000 casino customers. "…Mark Van Buren, vice president and assistant general manager of the St. Charles casino, said Ameristar did not mislead its customers. 'We feel the lawsuit is very frivolous and without merit,' he said. "The lawsuit said the St. Louis area casino failed to alert customers to the change.
