Full-Fledged Casino Resort Opens April 5

BROOKS, California -- As reported by the Davis Enterprise: ``In less than 20 years' time, the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians has gone from lending a hand in the building of its Capay Valley bingo hall to overseeing the opening of a full-fledged resort.

``On Monday, April 5, at 10 a.m., the tribe will open the doors on part of a $200 million expansion -- the Cache Creek Casino Resort -- which more than doubles the size of its existing casino.

``By June 3, when a 200-room hotel and health spa is complete, with its 27 suites and swimming pool, the tribe will have added eight restaurants and a nightclub.

``…Designed by the Friedmutter Group, a Las Vegas architecture firm, the casino will boast more than 2,000 slot machines, more than 120 table games, bingo seating for 1,000, event center concert seating for 2,000 and a five-level, 1,883-space parking garage.

``…The casino will employ more than 2,300 people. Its current payroll is more than $38.4 million annually…"
