French Lick Casino Progress to be Reviewed5 January 2005INDIANA – As reported by the Indianapolis Star: "In a move that could spell trouble for the French Lick casino, state lawmakers will review the project's progress and the state's decision to award the license to Donald Trump's company. "Indiana Rep. Robert Alderman, chairman of the House Public Policy and Veterans Affairs Committee, on Tuesday said he's concerned about Trump's bankruptcy court reorganization and has scheduled a hearing Thursday to review the project. "Alderman also said he will push through legislation that would remove all seven members of the Indiana Gaming Commission -- two of whom have served since 1993 and all of whom have been appointed by Democrats -- so that Gov.-elect Mitch Daniels can pick his own gambling panel. "Currently, there's no legislation addressing the French Lick casino, Alderman said. But he said one option for lawmakers is to revoke Trump's license. "…Greg Hahn, an Indianapolis attorney for Trump, said he's not worried about Thursday's hearing. He said Trump is working with the Indiana Department of Revenue to pay back those taxes owed.
