French Lick Casino Construction Ahead of Schedule

FRENCH LICK, Indiana – As reported by the Indiana Times-Mail: "Although the operating agent agreement between the Indiana Gaming Commission and the partnership building a casino in Orange County has never been signed, construction on the casino continues and is running ahead of schedule.

"As state gambling regulators are moving toward signing the contract with Blue Sky Casino LLC in the coming weeks, local promoters of the casino have stepped up their emphasis on addressing flooding problems in the area where the casino is being built.

"The Historic Hotels Preservation Commission, the local group that advances the casino's development, meets monthly to allow its members and the public to stay updated on progress in the casino's construction. The next HHPC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the French Lick Community Building.

"…As for the contract with Blue Sky Casino, Ernie Yelton, executive director of the Indiana Gaming Commission, said a meeting last week between members of his executive staff and representatives of Blue Sky Casino resulted in a final draft of an agreement…"
