Fraud sentence for ex-bureaucrat due Friday

Lloyd Carr misappropriated $634,000 from the Province of Alberta to feed his gambling addiction, the CBC said.

Lloyd worked in Alberta's addiction treatment agency who did not perform adequate background checks on him, the CBC report said.

Lloyd admitted he had addictions to VLT and slot machines and was quoted in the CBC report as saying he wished to "man up" to his mistakes.
