Foxwoods welcomes Irish rock band The Script9 August 2011MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Fans will delight in an evening of chart-topping hits by a band whose meteoric rise to music stardom is a heartfelt story of rags to riches. The Script, along with dance-rock newcomers Hot Chelle Rae, take the MGM Grand Theater stage at Foxwoods Resort Casino & MGM Grand at Foxwoods on October 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $47.50, $55, and $65 and are on sale now. Over the past few years, The Script has gone from playing small clubs to world-class stadiums and have even performed with their music idols U2 and Paul McCartney. Their self-titled 2008 debut album hit number one in the UK and Ireland and is approaching 2 million worldwide sales. In just two years, the band has acquired a handful of hit singles including “We Cry,” “Breakeven” and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.” “Breakeven” became one of the slowest climbers in U.S. pop history, eventually hitting the top of Billboard’s Adult Pop Song radio airplay chart after 40 weeks on release. The single has sold over 1.7 million downloads in the U.S. alone. With their sophomore album “Science And Faith,” The Script explores tough themes such as economic crisis and loss. The first single entitled “For The First Time” is a Top 10 hit on the Pop Radio charts and holding the #2 spot on Hot AC stations.
