Foxwoods slot revenue drops in December15 January 2019(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $37 million for the month of December 2018. This figure is down 5.2% compared to $39 million in December of 2017. Handle for the month was $473.1 million, down 1.5% from the $480.4 million wagered in the same month in 2017. Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has infused over $4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue into the Connecticut state economy through the Mashantucket Pequot Fund, supporting much-needed programs and services throughout Connecticut. Foxwoods’ contribution to the state in December 2018 is $9.6 million. There’s always something new at Foxwoods, and December was no exception as the property shared two exciting gaming opportunities for guests. Foxwoods announced its brand-new Play It First New Game Zone, which allows guests to experience brand new innovative table games like Dragon Poker and 3 Card Blitz. Foxwoods Rewards members were also treated to new upgrades to the resort’s loyalty program, including exclusive benefits at Atlantis at Paradise Island Resort and Casino in the Bahamas like discounted hotel packages, resort credits, bonus slot play and more. The holiday season kicked into high gear with the annual 12 Bars of Christmas Pub Crawl, featuring drink and food specials throughout the resort. Guests were also encouraged to participate in an Ugly Sweater Contest for the chance to win an overnight stay and exciting prizes including a one-hour party for up to 20 people, draft beer and draft cocktails at Stony Creek Brewery at Foxwoods, tickets to upcoming shows and a four pack of Monza World Class Karting at Foxwoods passes. The December festivities continued with the property’s annual Kids Week celebrations. Perfect for the whole family, Foxwoods’ Kiddie Game Lounge featured game consoles such as PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii as well as face painting, crafts and daily movies in the Grand Theater! Guests were gifted additional merriment last month with performances by award-winning artists including Smokey Robinson, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous and Third Eye Blind at Foxwoods’ state-of-the-art Grand and Fox Theaters. British rock legend Rick Springfield delivered a memorable performance on New Year’s Eve to usher in 2019 in style. This January, Foxwoods is excited to host the 5th Annual Baseball Winter Weekend event featuring Boston Red Sox icons past and present. Fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite players and coaches, and be treated to autograph sessions, insider panels, photo opportunities, a Town Hall meeting and more with their favorite team. |
