Foxwoods Resorts Casino reports December 2016 slot revenue

13 January 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $35.3 million for the month of December 2016. This figure is down 6.4% compared to $37.7 million in December of 2015. Handle for the month was $465.7 million, down .07% from the $466 million wagered in the same month in 2015.

Foxwoods' contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in December 2016 is $9.4 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to over $3.9 billion.

The property made spirits bright in December, beginning with the Foxwoods Holiday Slot Tournament which awarded over $40,000 in cash and prizes to guests throughout the month. Guests were gifted an even bigger opportunity to win as Foxwoods announced its Dream Wedding Giveaway, offering future newlyweds nationwide a chance at a high-rolling, all-expenses-paid celebration as part of the property's upcoming 25th Anniversary festivities in February.

Foxwoods' entertainment slate this December was bristling with world-class talent including performances from reggaeton sensation Nicky Jam and Grammy-award winning superstar Marc Anthony. Comedy fans were treated to performances from legendary comic Jerry Seinfeld and acclaimed stand-up Mike Epps at the state-of-the-art Grand Theater. Foxwoods started 2017 with a bang at the Foxwoods Winter Wonderland New Year's Eve Celebration hosted by rapper-turned-actor Ice-T and reality superstar Coco, who celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary with a packed Grand Pequot Ballroom crowd.

January is off to a uniquely hot start as Foxwoods announced its exclusive new Broadway Series, the first of its kind in the region, featuring multi-show performances of Broadway classics "42nd Street," "Pippin," and "Mamma Mia!" The excitement rolls on with performances from all-time soul great Gladys Knight and uproarious comedians Artie Lange and Bob Marley. The property is also thrilled to host the third annual Red Sox Winter Weekend which returns to Foxwoods from 20-23 January. Red Sox stars of past and present will treat fans to autograph sessions, insider panels and more.

Foxwoods' 25th Anniversary week is fast-approaching, beginning with a pair of must-see free concerts on 15 February as pop phenom Kesha takes the Grand Theater stage and Motown legend Smokey Robinson plays the Fox Theater. Courtesy of Foxwoods, admission is open to the public and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests can line up starting at noon on 15 February at the respective box office to receive two free tickets to the show of their choice. The complimentary concerts kick off a week of top-tier entertainment in celebration of 25 Years Proud that will include performances by Rascal Flatts, John Fogerty, and Ashanti and Ja Rule.

Tickets to all Foxwoods events can be purchased at the Foxwoods website.
