Foxwoods Resort Casino's March slot revenue

15 April 2021

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino is reporting slot revenue of $29.7 million for the month of March 2021. This results in an $8 million direct payment to the State of Connecticut in accordance with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s long-standing slot revenue contribution agreement. Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has deposited over $4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue directly into the state’s budget fund.

On March 18, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation along with the Mohegan Tribe reached an agreement with Governor Ned Lamont that will allow the State of Connecticut to modernize gaming options available to state residents, including allowing for sports wagering and online gaming. In addition to generating tens of millions of dollars in revenue for the state, these highly-anticipated gaming offerings are yet another example of Foxwoods’ continued dedication to providing an unmatched experience for guests.

Foxwoods once again resumed live entertainment in March with the reopening of the Grand Theater, its largest indoor entertainment venue. After kicking things off with New England’s own funnyman Bob Marley, the exciting summer entertainment slate heats up with two performances by iconic comedian Dave Chappelle in June. Similar to its preliminary reopening last fall, the Grand Theater will open its doors with considerable safety protocols in place including social distancing, a restructured entering and exiting process with reserved ticket times to reduce crowds, and an enhanced contactless ticketing approach.

With the vaccine being essential to reopening, the race has been on to get Connecticut residents vaccinated as quickly as possible. In order to help vaccinate as many people as possible to protect them against the novel coronavirus, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation partnered with Hartford Healthcare to open a mega vaccination site at Foxwoods. Since opening on March 8, the site has distributed over 20,000 vaccines, with a goal of administering 1 million vaccines by July. To get vaccinated, you must be a Connecticut resident and need to schedule an appointment in advance.

Ahead of the much awaited 2021 travel season, Foxwoods recently announced plans to welcome Mystic Market Kitchen & Eatery, one of Connecticut’s most popular and beloved gourmet eatery destinations, to the resort this summer. Located on the Great Cedar concourse in the Great Cedar Hotel, Mystic Market will provide fresh, handmade sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, coffee and gourmet meals - all made in house with locally sourced ingredients.
