Foxwoods Resort Casino's August slot revenue

16 September 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $39.5 million for the month of August 2019. This figure is down 4.8% compared to $41.4 million in August of 2018. Handle for the month was $492.2 million, down 5.2% from the $518.9 million wagered in the same month in 2018.

Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has infused over $4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue into the Connecticut state economy through the Mashantucket Pequot Fund, supporting much-needed programs and services throughout Connecticut. Foxwoods’ contribution to the state in August 2019 is $10.1 million.

There was plenty to celebrate in August as Foxwoods was nominated in not one, but two categories for USA Today’s 10Best Readers' Choice Awards – Best Casino Hotel and Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas. This is the second year in a row Foxwoods has been nominated after earning the title of No. 1 Best Casino Outside Las Vegas in 2018. Additionally, Chef Xavier Santiago, Executive Chef of Caputo Trattoria, competed on and won Chopped, Food Network’s widely popular reality television show where four professional chefs compete against each other. Visit Caputo Trattoria and taste Chef Santiago’s talents first-hand.

August brought more excitement to Foxwoods with a star-studded lineup of entertainers, including Jerry Seinfeld, Common, Brooks & Dunn and Lenny Kravitz. World-famous rapper Nelly also performed at Party Poolooza, the ultimate summer lawn and pool party and the highlight of Foxwoods Liquid Sundays in 2019.

Also in August, auto enthusiasts around New England came out for the season’s biggest motorsports celebration during the Ignition Speed Festival. The day-long, property-wide event featured a massive car show, endurance karting race, autocross battle and more – all free of charge!

September kicked off in delicious fashion with Foxwoods’ 2019 Restaurant Week, where guests could sample many of Foxwoods’ 40+ dining options. Pre-fix menus offered mouthwatering specials from award-winning outlets like Cedars Steakhouse & Oyster Bar, Alta Strada, Vue 24 and more.

There’s plenty more on the horizon this month with the promise of unforgettable performances from a variety of entertainers. Comedy fans won’t want to miss Dave Attell, Brian Regan and Nick Kroll, while pop aficionados will have the chance to catch icons like Adam Ant and The B-52s.
