Foxwoods Resort Casino reports January slot revenue

14 February 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $31 million for the month of January 2019. This figure is down 8.5% compared to $33.9 million in January of 2018. Handle for the month was $378.8 million, down 9.2% from the $417.1 million wagered in the same month in 2018.

Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has infused over $4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue into the Connecticut state economy through the Mashantucket Pequot Fund, supporting much-needed programs and services throughout Connecticut. Foxwoods’ contribution to the state in January 2019 is $7.8 million.

To kick off the 2019, Foxwoods celebrated the 5th Annual Baseball Winter Weekend featuring Red Sox legends of past and present, providing fans an up close and personal experience with the team. Fans had the opportunity to attend autograph sessions, insider panels, photo opportunities and Town Hall meetings with their favorite players, coaches and executives.

The highlight of the weekend was a special presentation by David Ortiz where he announced an exclusive partnership with Foxwoods. Ortiz has joined the property’s roster as a “designated ambassador,” and in addition to appearing in upcoming marketing campaigns, the baseball icon and 3-time World Champion will lend support to exclusive initiatives on property, including gaming tournaments and other hosted events.

Foxwoods’ entertainment slate ended 2018 on a high note as rock icon Rick Springfield ushered in the new year with an electric performance in the Grand Theater. Headlining comedians like Vic DiBitetto and Bert Kreischer dominated the Fox Tower with side-splitting laughs, as well as two comedic performances of FRIENDS! The Musical Parody, which lovingly poked fun at television’s favorite sitcom.

February is already off to an exciting start with the grand opening announcement of Foxwoods’ highly-anticipated Topgolf Swing Suite which features two simulator bays, throwback arcade games, a DJ booth, well-craft cocktails, a delicious selection of food items prepared onsite in a brick oven and so much more.

February also marks a special month for Foxwoods as the resort casino celebrates its 27th anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, a cake cutting ceremony will begin on 15 February at 8 p.m. in the Celebration Zone with special remarks from a Mashantucket Pequot Tribal member.

Foxwoods is keeping their anniversary celebrations going with exciting gaming offerings. On 15 February beginning at 6:00 a.m., earn one Foxwoods Rewards Point and receive $27 in Bonus Slot Play by playing your favorite slot game. Additionally, beginning 16 February from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., one winner per hour will be chosen as the “hot seat” winner while playing their favorite game for the chance to win $2,700 awarded by Foxwoods’ prize patrol.

This month’s star-studded entertainment lineup brings a slate of unforgettable talent including musical performances from global singing sensation Sarah Brightman and Grammy Award-winner Toni Braxton as well as comedic performances by Steve Martin and Martin Short, Jim Gaffigan and Aziz Ansari. Foxwoods is also excited to host its first ever Royal Rosé event celebrating all things rosé with tastings, live music, Insta-worthy moments and more.
