Foxwoods Resort Casino reports December 2015 Slot Revenue15 January 2016MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $37.7 million for the month of December 2015. This figure is up 4.1 percent compared to $36.2 million in December of 2014. Handle for the month was $466 million, up 4.4 percent from the $446.3 million wagered in the same month in 2014. Foxwoods’ contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in December 2015 is $9.5 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to over $3.8 billion. Foxwoods was a hotspot for holiday entertainment last month, gifting music lovers with an array of top acts including Grammy Award-winning rock superstars Imagine Dragons, Donny and Marie Osmond, Marc Anthony and Human Nature. The merriment continued at the Fox Theater, which played host to returning residencies from prolific tribute show Legends in Concert and Criss Angel’s mind-blowing magic spectacle The SUPERNATURALISTS. Jerry Seinfeld, Lisa Lampanelli, Mike Epps and Artie Lange kept audiences laughing throughout December as Foxwoods continued its recent run of stellar comedic showcases. Elsewhere on property, Foxwoods embraced the spirit of the season with the grand opening of its Winter Rink and Patio, which featured appearances by Yazz the Greatest and former Olympian and three-time national figure skating champion Michael Weiss. Guests also enjoyed a month-long celebration to commemorate Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday that included collectable casino chips, dining specials at property restaurants and a special tribute show by consummate showman Robert Davi. Foxwoods is kicking off 2016 with a bang, led by the just-announced opening of its newest fine dining experience, VUE 24. Helmed by Chef de Cuisine Michael Yaffe, VUE 24 serves its continental-based menu with a panoramic view, as the restaurant is a transformation of the property’s former Paragon location in the Grand Pequot Tower. Guests can follow dinner with a show for the ultimate night out, as Foxwoods will feature January comedy sets from “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah, late-night innovator Arsenio Hall and actress Wanda Sykes. A “hit” with New England sports fans, Foxwoods is also proud to host its second annual Baseball Winter Weekend, welcoming key members of the Boston Red Sox roster and front office to property. Past and present players set to appear include Dustin Pedroia, Hanley Ramirez, Xander Bogaerts, Pedro Martinez, Jason Varitek, Wade Boggs and Roger Clemens. |
