Foxwoods Resort Casino ready for holiday festivities

10 November 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- It’s the most wonderful time of the year at Foxwoods Resort Casino. This year, the Northeast’s premier holiday destination is unveiling an exciting lineup of festivities that will welcome guests of all ages to experience the Wonder of It All this holiday season.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday call for incredible deals at Tanger at Foxwoods and other Foxwoods properties, where guests can shop ‘til they drop at their favorite stores and purchase discounted tickets for upcoming concerts and events, plus book reduced hotel rooms and suites for their next Foxwoods getaway. Be on the lookout for more details later this month.

The resort casino’s holiday season truly kicks off with the longstanding Foxwoods tradition, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Taking place on Saturday, December 2, this beloved holiday event will feature live performances, seasonal treats and a special celebrity appearance. Foxwoods’ beloved Ice Rink and Winter Terrace will also be opening back up to the public, allowing guests to make their way around the ice while basking in the glow of thousands of holiday lights, and warm up from the cold in Foxwoods’ village of cozy, pop-up themed igloos.

Restaurants across Foxwoods will offer specially-crafted dinner menus, only available during the Christmas season. Guests will have the opportunity to surround themselves with thousands of ornaments, glittering lights and festive décor at Cedars Steak & Oysters, or enjoy seasonal menu items at Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN.

Kids of all ages can also enjoy a magical Breakfast with Santa at Cedars Steak & Oysters on Saturday, 2, 9, 16 December and Sunday, 17 December. Santa will take a break from his busy workshop to snap photos and supply a special holiday menu, including candy canes and gingerbread houses that guests can take home. In addition, Boozy Brunch Hosted by The Grinch will take place at Cedars on Sunday, 3 and 10 December, where guests 21 and over will have the chance to raise their spirits – and their glasses – over delicious cocktails and menu items.

Guests looking for a unique experience can look no further than The Holidays Are a Drag, a drag queen extravaganza taking place Saturday, December 16 at Centrale. Connecticut drag queens Jolina Jasmine, Mia E. Z’lay, Natalia Fierce and Kenya Mone Heart will be serving up holiday classics for the occasion through show-stopping numbers, fierce fashion and a touch of glitter.

The holiday season at Foxwoods is also marked by a dazzling array of shows and performances, including renowned jazz musician Kenny G’s Miracles Holiday and Hits Tour (2 December) and an exclusive screening of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, followed by a Q&A with actor Chevy Chase (2 December). Additional shows throughout the month include Il Divo’s A New Day Holiday tour (8 December), Martina McBride’s The Joy of Christmas Tour (15 December), Engelbert Humperdinck’s A Winter World of Love, A Night of Holiday Classics and Greatest Hits (16 December) and A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage (17 December). For a full list of entertainment events, visit Foxwoods.com/entertainment.

Finally, Foxwoods is partnering with the United Way and the Tommy Toy Fund for the annual Stuff The Bus, which provides new toys, stuffed animals and gift cards for children in Southeastern Connecticut who receive few or no holiday gifts. Beginning Friday, November 10 through Friday, December 8, collection boxes will be located by the elevator bays on the casino level of the following: Bingo Hall, Great Cedar Garage, Grand Pequot Tower South in front of Cedars, and The Fox Tower.

From 26 December through 28 December, families can keep their children entertained at Foxwoods with Kids/Teen Week all winter break. Events include movie screenings, arts & crafts, interactive video game experiences and more. And to ring in 2024, Foxwoods is hosting its annual New Year’s Eve Bash on December 31, where guests can dance and celebrate the New Year all night long. Foxwoods will be offering drink specials leading up to the Midnight Ball Drop.
