Foxwoods Resort Casino kicks off 20th anniversary celebration1 February 2012MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Since New Year’s Day, Foxwoods Resort Casino has asked “How Big Can You Celebrate?” Now, North America’s largest resort casino plans to commemorate its 20th Anniversary with its biggest celebration ever. Foxwoods is pulling out all the stops in honor of its 20-year milestone, with luxury raffles, property discounts, 20-themed gaming promotions, star-studded events and more. “It was, and continues to be, a true testament to the strength of the Pequot spirit – a spirit that has allowed us to persevere throughout centuries – and I’m proud to celebrate two decades of success and growth for our award-winning property.” Even after two decades of success and acclaim, this entertainment powerhouse refuses to rest on its laurels. 2012 marks a new era at Foxwoods, with the unveiling of a new, unrivaled rewards program, a sleek new brand platform and web and mobile enhancements. In 1992, an expansion to include slot machines and table games began the meteoric rise of Foxwoods Resort Casino. In 2008, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation achieved a new level of luxury, opening the prestigious MGM Grand at Foxwoods, and solidifying its status as a world-class gaming destination. Today, Foxwoods is recognized as North America’s largest resort casino; it boasts six casinos with more than 350 table games and 6,400 slot machines, four hotels, 38 dining experiences, 25 retails shops, the largest casino-based poker room, one of the largest bingo halls in the world, two lavish spas, two award-winning golf courses, a comedy club, luxury bowling lanes and more. The marquee of the celebration is the myriad of 20th Anniversary Raffles, featuring more than $500,000 in luxurious prizes and experiences. Additionally, guests are invited to enjoy 20% discounts at G-Spa and the Norwich Spa at Foxwoods and on hotel stays. Foxwoods is also celebrating its first 20 years by rewarding guests with gaming. Dream Rewards members will earn 20% more points on their favorite table games and slots every Tuesday. On Wednesdays, Dream Card holders who play $20 on slots will earn $10 free slot play. On February 15, 2012, the casino’s formal anniversary date, Foxwoods will host its Platinum Anniversary ceremony. Dignitaries, including President Butera, Chairman Butler, Foxwoods and Mashantucket Pequot officials and Tribal elders, will attend this festive celebration of the past, present and future of Foxwoods. The Platinum Ceremony itself will be a milestone event, as a number of key initiatives will be announced, including a new branding campaign and loyalty program, as well as major news on property development and expansion. On February 24, 2012, Grammy Award-winning music mogul Diddy will host “The Platinum Party,” an unparalleled line-up of entertainment, featuring a wealth of promotions and giveaways. The MGM Grand Premier Ballroom will be transformed, with aerialists twirling overhead, dancers in platinum body paint, the Northeast’s hottest DJ’s spinning favorite jams, massive video screens and private VIP tables with bottle service.
