Foxwoods reports November slot revenue19 December 2011MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Slot revenue at Foxwoods Resort Casino in November 2011 was $47.9 million compared to $49.5 million for the same month last year. Handle for the month was $568.8 million, down 6.0 percent from November 2010. The Casino Resort's November operations produced a $12.8 million contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund. "After a year of extensive financial and operational restructuring, today's Foxwoods is in position to compete effectively in the Northeast gaming market," said Scott C. Butera, who has been Foxwoods CEO since December 2010. "Our slot and other gaming businesses are performing as expected given the economic climate," Butera said. "As important, our balance sheet strength is improving and in the New Year we are looking forward to the launch of new targeted marketing efforts and several property enhancements." Foxwoods Resort Casino, which is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2012. Since its opening in 1992, it has made a cumulative contribution to the state of Connecticut topping $3.28 billion. Holiday Happenings at Foxwoods Yearend festivities at Foxwoods will deliver seasonal smiles, hugs and warm memories starting with Lisa Lampanelli’s Lovable Queen of Mean followed by the legendary sounds of country star Kenny Rogers and capped off with Soul Queen Aretha Franklin; and Steve Aoki with the Shrine Eve of the Eve. Visitors can ring in the New Year by dancing the night away or delighting on gourmet fare at Foxwoods restaurants and nightspots. In between holidays, the kids can visit the Pequot Museum for “Read Me a Story” to partake in Tribal lore as told by museum staff.
