Foxwoods reports January 2015 slot revenue16 February 2015MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino today reported slot revenue of $34.1 million for the month of January 2015. This figure is down 8 percent compared to $37.1 million in January of 2014. Handle for the month was $424.8 million, down 2 percent from the $433.3 million wagered in the same month in 2014. Foxwoods’ contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund this month is $8.9 million bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to nearly $3.7 billion. December was a fun month for guests of Foxwoods Resort Casino with some of the world’s biggest and brightest acts coming through the property’s legendary Fox Theater, spectacular Grand Theater, and intimate Comix Comedy Club, including the Rock n’ Roll Fantasy Camp featuring Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Lee Brice & Chris Young, John Oliver, and six amazing shows with Criss Angel MINDFREAK. In addition, Foxwoods hosted a weekend celebration for Red Sox nation January 23-25, featuring today’s superstars of the Boston Red Sox including David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia, as well as some of the legends of the Boston bombers including Pedro Martinez, Carlton Fisk and Fred Lynn. The excitement continues in February as Foxwoods toasts 23 years of amazing world-class gaming and entertainment. The property is commemorating this occasion with 23 days of celebrations including spectacular events, promotions and giveaways. Festivities include dancing, music and trivia provided by the Foxwoods Dream Team, who will be energizing audiences daily from the Anniversary Stage, located on the retail concourse across from Activa. And on Saturday, February 21, Foxwoods will attempt to become Connecticut’s largest flash mob location with a group performance at 6:30pm in front of the Anniversary Stage. This special Foxwoods Anniversary Flash Mob will dance to the legendary Foxwoods jingle “The Wonder Of It All.” During the Foxwoods 23rd Anniversary Promotion, guests also have an opportunity to enter to win daily prizes such as overnight hotel accommodations, concert tickets, gift certificates, bonus slot play, and a share of $23,000 in cash. 23 winners will be awarded daily; three winners will be picked on the hour from 2:00pm to 7:00pm and five winners will be chosen at 8:00pm. Saturdays will be the biggest day of the week as Foxwoods selects 23 people to enter its Anniversary Cash Cube stationed at the Anniversary Headquarters on the retail concourse across from Activa for a chance to win a share of $23,000 in cash. Additional spectacular events at Foxwoods throughout the month of February include Lion Fight 20 (February 20), 70’s Soul Jam (February 28) in the Grand Theater featuring The Stylistics, The Chi-Lites, The Manhattans, The Dramatics, The Delfonics, Bloodstone and Heatwave.
