Foxwoods reports February 2015 slot revenue

16 March 2015

MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino today reported slot revenue of $31.6 million for the month of February 2015. This figure is down 19.8 percent compared to $39.1 million in February of 2014. Handle for the month was $382.9 million, down 20.1 percent from the $479.3 million wagered in the same month in 2014.

Foxwoods’ contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in February 2015 is $8.2 million bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to nearly $3.7 billion.

"The year-over-year decline in slot revenue was due almost exclusively to weather," said Felix Rappaport, President and CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino. "Southern New England experienced record cold and snow in February, making travel to our facility in southeastern Connecticut problematic for most of the month."

February was a lucky month for guests of Foxwoods Resort Casino as the property toasted 23 years of amazing world-class gaming and entertainment with spectacular events, promotions and giveaways. Festivities included dancing, music and trivia provided by the Foxwoods Dream Team. In addition, guests won daily cash and prizes such as overnight hotel accommodations, concert tickets, gift certificates, bonus slot play, and a share of $23,000 in cash. In addition, North America’s largest resort casino hosted some of the world’s biggest and brightest acts in February, including Craig Ferguson, Lion Fight 20, and 70’s Soul Jam featuring The Stylistics, The Chi-Lites, The Manhattans, The Dramatics, The Delfonics, Bloodstone and Heatwave.

The excitement continues in March with more spectacular events in the legendary Fox Theater, spectacular Grand Theater, and intimate Comix Comedy Club. This includes Marie Osmond (March 18), Sinbad (March 20), Cheech & Chong (March 21), Fifth Harmony (March 22), Gran Combo & Tego Calderon (March 27), and Barry Manilow (March 28).
