Foxwoods reports December slot revenue15 January 2015MASHANTUCKET, Conn. -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino today reported slot revenue of $36.2 million for the month of December 2014. This figure is down 3.8 percent compared to $37.6 million in December 2013. Handle for the month was $446.3 million, up 3.4 percent from the $431.6 million wagered in the same month in 2013. Foxwoods' contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund this month is $9.3 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to nearly $3.7 billion. December was a lucky month for guests of Foxwoods Resort Casino with some of the world's biggest and brightest acts coming through the property's legendary Fox Theater, spectacular Grand Theater, and intimate Comix Comedy Club, including Donny & Marie Osmond, The Texas Tenors, Lisa Lampanelli, Jim Gaffigan and Marc Anthony. The excitement continues in January with the Rock n' Roll Fantasy Camp featuring Aerosmith's Joe Perry (January 15-18), Neil deGrasse Tyson (January 16), Lee Brice & Chris Young (January 23), John Oliver (January 24), and six amazing shows with Criss Angel MINDFREAK (January 15-17). Also, the Comix Comedy Club at Foxwoods heats up the winter blues with marquee comedic stars David Koechner (January 17), Eddie Izzard (January 17), Matt Donaher (January 21), and Sean Patton (January 22-24). In addition, Foxwoods will host a weekend celebration for Red Sox Nation January 23-25, featuring today's superstars of the Boston Red Sox including David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia, as well as some of the legends of the Boston bombers including Pedro Martinez, Carlton Fisk and Fred Lynn. This unique three-day "Red Sox Winter Weekend" baseball festival will include a Town Hall Meeting with Red Sox leaders, autograph sessions with Red Sox players, and roundtable discussions among players and fans on a variety of baseball topics. The event will also offer clinics for kids and feature a plethora of other fun and interactive activities for fans of all ages. |
