Foxwoods Opens Public Golf Course

CONNECTICUT – As reported by the Boston Globe: "Foxwoods: It's not just for gambling anymore.

"With World Tour Poker coverage bringing in plenty of gamers, the Connecticut casino is concentrating on expanding and drawing attention to its other amenities.

" It's opening a championship-quality public golf course, another restaurant and several shops. That comes on the heels of a private golf course.

"Though Foxwoods, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, started largely as a gambling facility, the other side of the business is growing faster, Robert J. DeSalvio said. That is largely by design.

"…A $700 million expansion will soon be under way to add 825 hotel rooms, as well as more meeting space and other amenities…"
