Foxwoods gets message out to customers

CONNECTICUT -- As reported by the Hartford Courant: "...Foxwoods Resort Casino is installing small video touch screens in 7,200 of its slot machines that will advertise the casino's services, make special offers on games or merchandise, or promote a show or spa. Gamblers will sometimes be rewarded with an extra game or jackpot drawing on the small screen.

"...Foxwoods will start by marketing itself on the small screens but could eventually offer time to outside clients, said Alex Rodriguez, vice president of slot operations at the casino near Ledyard.

"...Foxwoods' decision to undertake the massive retrofit of its machines during the next five months follows an industry trend to personalize slot machines and increase player interaction.

"Mohegan Sun is considering similar technology as part of its $740 million expansion. The Mohegan Tribe is already using the screens at a slot parlor and racetrack it owns in Pennsylvania..."
