Foxwoods Casino slot revenue decreases in May

16 June 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $37.4 million for the month of May 2019. This figure is down 2.8% compared to $38.5 million in May of 2018. Handle for the month was $469.5 million, down 2.6% from the $482 million wagered in the same month in 2018.

Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has infused over $4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue into the Connecticut state economy through the Mashantucket Pequot Fund, supporting much-needed programs and services throughout Connecticut. Foxwoods’ contribution to the state in May 2019 is $9.5 million.

Foxwoods was the place to win in May, with plenty of opportunities for guests to score big including a $25,000 slot tournament and a Norwegian Cruise Line giveaway, offering guests the chance to win a 7-day vacation for two to places like Europe, the Caribbean or the Mexican Riviera. Thrill-seekers also were able to kick off summer with Foxwoods’ lineup of unforgettable adventures, including the Highflyer Zipline, Monza World Class Karting and recently opened Topgolf Swing Suite.

The excitement continued as the Foxwoods Broadway Series brought Kinky Boots to the Fox Theater for a three-day stint. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Sammy Hagar performed a range of classic hits and music from his new album, while Bill Maher brought the laughs with his unflinchingly honest stand-up comedy.

May also saw the start of Liquid Sundays to kick off summer, bringing back the Northeast’s only outdoor, Vegas-style pool party complete with a live DJ, private cabanas, beer pong, corn hole and more. Coming up in June, guests can enjoy an EDM-themed Electric Pool Party with music by DJ Fresh.

Foodies are in for a treat this month with the return of The Wonder of the Cocktail 19-21 June, offering guests and industry professionals the chance to taste some of the finest spirits and wines in the world with global experts, attend master class seminars, and meet some of Connecticut’s most talented chefs.

Foxwoods’ entertainment lineup for June features co-headliners Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan, the legendary Diana Ross, and a performance by Pat Benatar, widely respected trailblazer in the rock music industry. Guests looking for a throwback experience can check out free Tribute Thursdays to hear covers of top hits from bands like The Beatles and Bon Jovi, every week from June through August.

Continuing the fun, Foxwoods Summer of Dreams will also return to the property later this summer, including a $1,000,000 Slot Tournament with daily winners taking home up to $2,500 in cash.
