Foxwoods announces opening of newest restaurant, VUE 24

19 January 2016

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino, the largest resort casino in North America, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest fine dining experience, VUE 24. Nestled atop the 24 floor of the property’s Grand Pequot Tower, VUE 24 is a transformation of the former Paragon location. VUE 24 offers panoramic views and a lavish brasserie charm with a familiar and relaxing ambiance.

VUE 24 provides guests an inviting bar and lounge serving classic cocktails and old redefined favorites, and will feature varied wine offerings hand selected by General Manager and Sommelier Jan Sedlak, who brings his unique and extensive experience to the region. Sedlak previously worked with Chef and Restaurateur Daniel Boulud, as Maître D’ of both NYC Michelin-starred Boulud restaurants Cafe Boulud and Restaurant Daniel. He then opened Bar Boulud at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Boston where he served as Assistant General Manager of Operations.

Led by Chef de Cuisine Michael Yaffe, formerly of the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in Las Vegas, VUE 24 provides exquisite Continental-based cuisine presented with an unmistakable modern flair and fresh, local ingredients and flavors.

“The region is ripe for an exciting new spin on Continental cuisine,” said Chef Michael Yaffe, who started his career at Boston-based The Julien Restaurant and The Langham Hotel. “Together, our teams have carefully crafted a unique menu that showcases classic, flavorful dishes that take on lives of their own, including Châteaubriand and Foie Gras Terrine. We’re eager to provide our guests with the best ingredients and flavors to dazzle the palate and satisfy their culinary cravings.” The menu also consists of delectable Fromage featuring New England’s finest cheeses, Coquille St. Jacques, Boeuf Bourguignon, Duck à l’Orange, King Crab, Local Lamb, Poulet Chasseur and many other savory dishes.

Foxwoods Resort Casino’s Head Pastry Chef Franck Iglesias, who oversees 40 team members and supports 34 food outlets at the resort, offers guests irresistible dessert options including Millefeuille, Profiteroles Au Chocolat and Cygne Chantilly. Chef Franck is no stranger to Continental specialties. Born in Argenteuil, France, just north of Paris, he spent many years as both a cook and pastry chef in France and Spain, most recently working with François Payard at his Upper East Side Payard Patisserie & Bistro in New York City.

Every Sunday, VUE 24 will also host Sky Brunch Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $40 per person. Guests can choose from a variety of hand-crafted first course dishes, such as Saumon Fumé, Grapefruit Brûlée, or Chèvre Salad, and main course plates including Steak Frites, Croque Madame and the VUE 24 Omelette, featuring Stonington lobster. An unlimited grand dessert buffet is also included, prepared by Chef Franck.

“Foxwoods Resort Casino offers guests a chance to escape and savor a food and dining experience unlike any other in the Northeast,” said Adam Odegard, Vice President of Food & Beverage at Foxwoods Resort Casino. “Soaring 24 floors above the lush Connecticut landscape, VUE 24 creates a very unique opportunity for our guests to experience fine dining with breathtaking sights from a top floor – similar to ones you find in New York City or Boston. They can now experience that definition of elite skyline views and exceptional food and service right here in Mashantucket.”

VUE 24 is open Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Sky Brunch. For more information on VUE 24 and to view the menu, please visit the Foxwoods Resort Casino website.
