Four Winds casino ready for summer14 June 2007NEW BUFFALO, Michigan -- As reported by the Herald Argus: "Casino competition in the area should heat up this summer when Four Winds Casino Resort opens Aug. 2 in New Buffalo -- and that's a good thing, said Four Winds General Manager Matt Harkness. "...Four Winds will draw from a 50-mile radius around New Buffalo, including northern Indiana and Chicago, Harkness said. A marketing blitz has yet to be launched, but it comes as no surprise that the casino is looking to draw gamblers away from northwest Indiana's riverboat casinos, including the nearby Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City. "Even though Four Winds is still under construction, the race to be the premier gambling destination in the area has already begun. With Blue Chip in the midst of constructing a new 22-story hotel with convention center, restaurants and a nightclub, Four Winds is already looking at future expansion, including possibly a convention center or golf course. "...Construction on Four Winds, which is owned by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, began last June..." |
