Former Casino Workers Face Federal Charges

MINNESOTA – As reported by the Minnesota Star Tribune: "The U.S. Attorney's Office has charged six former casino employees with filing phony paperwork to get reimbursed for jackpots they never paid to customers.

"Roger S. Burnette, 32, of Naytahwaush, Minn., is accused of being the mastermind of the scheme, which was apparently carried out between April 2002 and December 2002.

"…Burnette apparently taught a casino slot worker how to falsify jackpot fill slips. Some of the money that was then embezzled was later kicked back to Burnette, according to an indictment returned last week by a federal grand jury…"
