Former Casino Clerk Takes Borgata VP Position12 October 2004ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Associated Press: "It sounds like one of those too-good-to-be-true Hollywood movie scripts: A lowly promotions-booth clerk climbs the corporate ladder and, 20 years later, finds himself running a billion-dollar casino. "But this is Atlantic City, and the gaming industry is replete with real-life examples of waiters, cashiers and even promotions-booth clerks eventually making their way into the executive suite. "Larry Mullin, who got his start in the casino industry nearly 20 years ago manning a promotions booth at Harrah's Atlantic City, is one of those people. Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has promoted Mullin to executive vice president and chief operating officer, a position that places him in charge of casino operations at the $1.1 billion megaresort. "In Borgata's hierarchy, Mullin is second only to Bob Boughner, the casino's chief executive officer. Mullin formerly was Borgata's executive vice president of marketing. "…Mullin will continue overseeing Borgata's marketing program in his new position, but also takes charge of the casino's slot, table games, security and credit operations…" |
