Florida track welcomes afforable blackjack

7 December 2009

HALLANDALE, Florida -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Long anticipated and much delayed, virtual blackjack – with an affordable $5 per-hand minimum and the most polite and attractive dealers in cyberspace -- has come to town at Gulfstream Park. The regional leader in innovative slots, Gulfstream Park Casino can once again lay claim as South Florida's first facility to offer the newest type of gaming available to its guests.

"Electronic blackjack is another example of how Gulfstream Park has evolved into a multi-faceted entertainment complex," said Steve Calabro, Magna Entertainment Corp.'s Vice President of Gaming. "We've surveyed our customers and we are proud to deliver what they have requested."

Due to anticipated high demand, Gulfstream Park will offer blackjack in both its first- and second-floor casinos.

The blackjack games, officially named "Royal Match 21," not only offer $5 minimums, with maximum bets of up to $200 per hand, but also an optional $1 side bet called the "Royal Match," which offers a winning payout of 25-1. Royal Match 21 occurs when the first two cards the wagering players draws are a Queen and King in the same suit. The winning payout is 1,000-1 if a Queen and King in the same suit are the first two cards drawn by both the wagering player and the dealer.

Gulfstream will be the area's first gaming facility to offer virtual blackjack. It laid claim to a similar distinction last week when it opened its virtual roulette. It was the first pari-mutuel facility in Florida to offer slots when its casino opened in November of 2006, and it was the first to offer several wildly popular games, including "Diamond Lotto" and Lucky Larry Leprechaun," which were introduced this past summer at Gulfstream Park.

"Electronic table games, blackjack and roulette allow Gulfstream Park to offer its players new gaming options, and will attract new customers to the facility," said Mr. Calabro.

In early 2010, another attraction will debut: The Villages at Gulfstream Park, an upscale lifestyle mall that will include over 70 new shops and high-end restaurants.
