Florida slots proposal clears first hurdle13 June 2007ORIDA -- As reported by the Miami Herald: "A proposal to put slot machines in Miami-Dade County cleared its first hurdle Tuesday with no debate. "The county's Governmental Operations and Environment Committee passed a resolution, 5-0, to allow slot machines at parimutuels.
