Florida Riverboat Allowed to Have Gambling27 May 2004FLORIDA – As reported by the Associated Press: "A bill aimed at helping a single river cruise ship - by adding gambling to its diversions - was approved by a legislative committee Wednesday. "The bill doesn't name the company or the ship it owns, but only one boat fits its criteria, company officials and the legislator who pushed it said later. "…Gambling giant Delaware North owns two boats that fit the bill's 400-passenger requirement, but only one largely travels Louisiana waters, the American Queen, which sails between New Orleans and St. Francisville. "…Gambling could only occur when the boat is sailing; cruises run three or four days…" |
