Florida project moves forward

HALLANDALE BEACH, Florida – As reported by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel: " Plans are moving forward for a $1 billion mixed-use project at Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino.

"Commissioners have approved a site plan for the project's first phase, which calls for 430,814 square feet of retail and office space. They also approved a special assessment district to raise money among unit owners for infrastructure improvements on the property. The district would have no financial impact on city residents. The development is a small piece of the 2.65-million-square-foot Village at Gulfstream Park project, which would include 70 stores, 1,500 condos, a 500-room hotel, a 2,500-seat theater and dining facilities.

"Forest City Enterprises is building the project on 60 acres at Gulfstream Park, on the southeast corner of Hallandale Beach Boulevard and South Federal Highway…"
