Flights celebrates Las Vegas grand opening

1 July 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Flights has landed on the Las Vegas Strip. The aviation-themed eatery, known for its tapas-style comfort food and one-of-a-kind cocktail program, celebrated the grand opening of its fifth location, and first outside of California, on Saturday, 29 June. The restaurant, located inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, opened its doors to guests with an exclusive VIP affair featuring cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and live entertainment.

Attendees included Gerry McCambridge, Lori Legacy of “Menopause the Musical,” Marc Savard, The Australian Bee Gees, Blonde Invasion, Crazy Girls, cast members from “V: The Ultimate Variety Show” and “Zombie Burlesque,” and Aussie Heat, who surprised guests with a “Top Gun”-inspired performance. Additional attendees included Mrs. Nevada Eve Dawes, Miss Silver State Teen Alyssa Fuller and Miss Tivoli Teen Tinley McWhorter.

Founded by restaurateur Alex Hult and his wife, Miss Nevada 2011 Sarah Hult, Flights features a delectable menu of offerings from Corporate Executive Chef Kyle Kingrey for guests to savor. The food and beverage options, served as a trio, or a “flight,” allow patrons to get a taste of the restaurant’s wide variety of offerings.

Signature flights showcase ingredients, such as ahi tuna, shrimp, French fries and more, and preparations including ceviche, skewers and salads served in three different styles. This unique culinary treatment allows guests to experience a multitude of flavors in a single dish. Shareable entrees, small bites, sides, and a build-your-own slider flight are also available, as well as delectable desserts including a beignet flight and a cheesecake flight.

Flights allows guests the opportunity to try their favorite cocktails three different ways, including daiquiris, frozen margaritas, martinis, mules, mojitos, cosmopolitans and old fashioneds, as well as beer, wine and spirit flights. Patrons can also partake in one of the restaurant’s specialty craft cocktails, such as the Aviation, with gin, crème de violette and luxardo; the Maverick, featuring bourbon, peach and balsamic; the Mile High with tequila, Campari and grapefruit, or the giant Miracle On The Hudson with Flights Rum, citrus and berry la croix.
