Fitzgeralds completes expansion

24 July 2008

BLACK HAWK, Colorado – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The area's loose slot leader just got bigger. Approximately 19,500 square-feet bigger. Fitzgeralds Casino has just completed its multi-million dollar expansion, bringing more nightlife options, dining destinations, and economic growth to Black Hawk.

"We currently have nearly 280 employees but may need to hire many new team members to staff our two-story addition," said Kelly Ireland, Vice President of Marketing, Fitzgeralds Casino Black Hawk. "We're very pleased to be able to bring these opportunities to the Black Hawk area." The additional hires are expected to add a welcome boost to the job market.

The expansion, built by Haselden Construction, houses a variety of new bars, like the Red Iron Bar and the Corner Pub. More restaurants have also been added to the mix, such as relaxed fine-dining venue Don B's Steakhouse. And most important to casino customers, the all-new Fitzgeralds boasts over 350 of the latest games, including 130 $1 slots.

Fitzgeralds is celebrating its expansion with a Grand Re-Opening Event, Thursday, July 24. Participants can enter to win a $20,000 Grand Opening Giveaway, and the Irish band Gobs O'Phun will bring Celtic cheer to a full day of festivities.

And although change is in the air at Fitzgeralds, some things remain the same. After 13 years, the casino is still Black Hawk's loose slot leader, according to statistics provided by the Colorado Division of Gaming
