First responders honor 9/11 heroes with annual 1,455-step climb12 September 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- Early this morning, more than 400 local firefighters, police officers, EMTs and military personnel paid tribute to the first responders who lost their lives on 11 September 2001 by completing the sixth-annual 1,455-step Tower Climb to the top of The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower. The day began with an Honor Guard presentation and a moment of silence before the climb commenced. Las Vegas firefighters participated in full gear, and many climbers wore lanyards displaying the photo and name of a fallen first responder. After the climb, participants gathered with family and friends at PT’s Wings & Sports to raise a glass in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice 24 years ago. Proceeds from the Tower Climb will benefit charitable organizations including Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which supports families of fallen and injured first responders and service members; Southern Nevada Burn Foundation, which assists burn survivors and promotes fire prevention education; and Vegas Fire and Rescue Charitable Association, which provides aid to local firefighters and their families in times of need. |
