Firekeepers Casino opened delayed to 200922 November 2007MICHIGAN -- As reported by Western Michigan Business Review: "The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians probably won't cut the ribbon on the Firekeepers Casino east of Battle Creek until the first quarter of 2009, according to Full House Resorts, one of the tribe's two owner representatives. "Full House made that prediction in its quarterly report to the Securities and Exchange Commission, issued last week. It listed the reason as unanticipated delays in the approval by the National Indian Gaming Commission of GEM's management agreement. GEM is a joint venture -- Gaming Entertainment (Michigan) -- with RAM Entertainment, a privately held investment company. Full House owns half of GEM. "The management agreement is subject to approval by the gaming commission, which is currently completing its background licensing requirements and processing GEM's application, Full House reported. "...Christman Co. and Kraus-Anderson, which built the newly opened Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians's Four Winds Resort in New Buffalo Township, are not going to erect the Nottawaseppi casino, according to Mike Kounelis, vice president of Skillman Corp.
